Who They Are
GVC is supporting a busy small animal practice in Kettering, Northamptonshire seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to head up clinical standards and outcomes. You’ll be joining a close-knit team and working in a setting designed for consistent, high-quality first-opinion care.
Team structure:
- 2 vets
- 4 RVNs
- 1 SVN

- Dental X-ray
What You’ll Do
As the most senior clinician on site, you’ll set the clinical tone and ensure excellent patient and client outcomes. You will:
- Lead clinical standards, governance and day-to-day quality of care
- Provide senior oversight on complex medical and surgical cases
- Act as the primary point of clinical decision-making and guidance for the vet team
- Drive continuous improvement through clinical review, audits and agreed best practice
- Mentor and coach colleagues, supporting skill development and confident case management
- Handle clinical complaints appropriately and provide professional guidance when needed
- Work closely with practice leadership to support improvements in ways of working and overall performance

The Rota
- Full-time: 40 hours over 4 days
- Shared Saturday rota: (09:00–12:00) with time off in lieu
