MJ Health is currently seeking an experienced Permanent Veterinary Surgeon (medical bias) for our well-established client in Sawley, Nottinghamshire. For the right candidate support for a certificate is also available if this is their chosen development route.
Overview:
Salary: Up to £60,000 (DOE)
Animal type: Small animal
Shifts: Day rota including weekends (flexible for part-time)
Full time/Part time: Ideally full-time; part-time considered
Out of hours: No (dedicated OOH team in place)
Weekends: Yes, included in the day rota
Sole charge: Occasional, depending on rota
Team Size: 17 vets, 23 nurses, 16 support staff
Equipment/facilities available:
Tier 3 RCVS-accredited hospital
High-end ultrasound, digital and dental radiography, endoscopy, laparoscopy
In-house lab with full diagnostics including T4, SDMA, Cortisol, Bile acids, Coags, Cpli/Fpli
Imagyst for rapid cytology
Physiotherapy, laser therapy, acupuncture
Planned CT scanner (expected early 2026)

Certificate support available
Wide range of surgical procedures carried out regularly
Easily commutable from Nottingham, Derby, and surrounding areas
Close to M1, train links, and East Midlands Airport
