JR Veterinary is excited to be recruiting on behalf of our esteemed client, an established and supportive small animal practice in Nottinghamshire, for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their close-knit team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive, purpose-built clinic led by a highly experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) Partner, who is committed to a supportive culture and high clinical standards.
The Role: Clinical Leadership & Surgical Focus
We are seeking a proactive and confident Veterinary Surgeon with a strong surgical bias to handle a varied and engaging caseload. You will be instrumental in the clinical success of the practice and the development of the team.
Key Requirements & Focus:
- Surgical Confidence: You must be confident in performing a wide range of surgical procedures. Experience in emergency and critical care (ECC) is highly desirable.
- Mentorship: You will play an important role in supporting and mentoring junior vets, fostering a strong, collaborative clinical team.
- Case Development: We encourage and support good case development across all facets of medicine and surgery.
Practice Environment & Facilities
Join a friendly, dedicated team that includes 3.5 Vets, 3 Nurses, 2 Veterinary Care Assistants, and 4 Receptionists. The practice is situated in the heart of a local community, providing a pleasant work setting with easy access.
- Facilities: The bright, air-conditioned surgery is purpose-built to industry-leading standards with state-of-the-art equipment, including:
- Digital X-ray
- Ultrasound
- ECG and full surgical facilities
- Ultrasonic dental and in-house laboratory equipment (biochem, microscope).
- Location: Situated next to local shops and a canal, the practice offers convenient commuting, being just 10 minutes from the M1 and 5 minutes from Nottingham city centre.
Rewards and Benefits Package
Our client offers an attractive remuneration package and supports continuous professional growth:
- Competitive Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum (D.O.E / FTE).
- Work-Life Balance: Full-time (40 hours) with a fantastic 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (9am – 12pm) only.
- CPD & Certificates: Generous CPD allowance and funding/support is available for the right candidate interested in studying towards a Certificate.
- Annual Leave: 20 days annual leave plus 8 Bank Holiday days.
