Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Small Animal Surgeon to join our growing team. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced veterinarians and specialists, providing soft tissue and orthopaedic surgical care across a diverse small animal referral caseload. They will contribute to the management of complex surgical cases and deliver high standards of perioperative patient care from assessment through recovery.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide soft tissue and orthopaedic surgical services for a diverse small animal referral caseload
- Perform some neurosurgery
- Perform comprehensive surgical assessments, formulate diagnostic and treatment plans
- Perform advanced diagnostic procedures, including spinal taps
- Provide pre-operative consultations and detailed post-operative management plans
- Collaborate respectfully with specialists and veterinarians across disciplines to support comprehensive case management
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate medical records in accordance with professional standards
- Participate in the after-hours or emergency referral roster as required
Requirements
- Board-Certified Small Animal Surgeon, Residents nearing completion of an accredited residency are welcome to apply
- Eligible for a Singapore veterinary licence with Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), NParks
- Extensive experience in advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery within a referral or specialist environment
- Experience in neurosurgery is advantageous but not essential
- Strong clinical judgement and ability to independently manage complex surgical cases
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
