JR is working with a fantastic independent small animal practice in Somerset to recruit a Veterinary Surgeon to join their experienced and supportive team.
The Opportunity:
This is a great chance to work alongside a talented, collaborative team including certificate holders in Medicine and Feline Medicine, plus a vet currently completing a Surgical Certificate. The practice has a reputation for developing staff, with several of the current RVNs having started as receptionists and progressed through training.
You’ll enjoy a structured day with 15-minute consults, protected admin time, and regular clinical meetings to support case discussion and collaboration.
The Role:
- Full-time position with a fixed rota for work-life balance
- 1:6 weekend rota – Saturdays 9:00–17:00, Sundays 10:30–16:00
- No out-of-hours requirements
- Mixture of consults, routine surgery, and case work-ups
- Flexible hours considered for the right candidate
About You:
We’re looking for a confident all-rounder who enjoys both consulting and surgery. Some prior experience in small animal practice is essential, but different experience levels will be considered, with excellent support available for development.
