Are you an experienced Vet ready for a role that allows you to focus on outstanding patient care while being part of a truly collaborative team? We’re working on behalf of a well-established small animal practice with a fantastic reputation for clinical excellence and compassionate client care. They are now looking to welcome a Veterinary Surgeon to their close-knit team.
This is a full-time position (4 x 10-hour days), with a 1 in 6 full weekend rota and limited out-of-hours requirements. The ideal candidate will bring at least 3–5 years of UK veterinary experience, with confidence in all routine procedures and an enthusiasm for mentoring and sharing clinical expertise. Surgical certification and experience would be a bonus—but not essential.

🔧 Key Responsibilities
Client Care:
- Deliver exceptional client care at every touchpoint
- Ensure clear communication post-procedure and during follow-ups
- Manage client concerns and provide updates on patient wellbeing
- Provide continuity of care, including out-of-hours transitions
Patient Care:
- Conduct consultations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures
- Oversee patient monitoring and discharge protocols
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records
- Prescribe and check medication in accordance with best practice
- Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure full adherence to regulatory, operational and health & safety standards
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, care, and record-keeping
Team Leadership:
- Share clinical best practices and support mentoring of junior colleagues
- Collaborate with nurses to develop nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures
- Hold regular clinical discussions and contribute to team development
- Clinical Administration:
- Interpret and manage lab results
- Liaise with practice leadership and escalate issues as needed
- Ensure seamless handover of patient care where required
🧠 What We’re Looking For
- RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Minimum of 3 years UK clinical experience, ideally 5+
- Demonstrated ability to lead on clinical cases and decision-making
- Strong surgical skills (certificate holders or those working toward one welcome)
- Confident, team-focused, and proactive in sharing knowledge
- A desire to support a high standard of care across the entire practice
