We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon and leader to take on a pivotal role in shaping the performance and future of a modern, growing veterinary clinic. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is not only clinically excellent, but also passionate about team leadership, client care, and driving practice success.
About the Role:
As CD, you’ll split your time between clinical work (around 80%) and leadership responsibilities. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care while also supporting the wider practice team to deliver great results across clinical, financial, and people aspects of the business.
You’ll have the autonomy to direct clinic strategy at a local level, while being supported by a wider leadership team. This role would suit an ambitious individual who thrives on responsibility, enjoys mentoring others, and has a keen eye for both detail and development.
Key Responsibilities:
🐾 Clinical Excellence
- Deliver and uphold the highest standards of patient care.
- Support the team to work to their full qualifications and potential.
- Lead on education, CPD, audits, and evidence-based medicine.
- Drive teamwork and collaboration across the practice.
📈 Business Performance
- Contribute to practice growth, client acquisition, and retention.
- Oversee key areas such as HR, H&S, recruitment, and marketing.
- Play an active role in budget planning and financial performance.
- Ensure outstanding client communication and experience.
👥 Leadership & Wellbeing
- Line manage, support, and develop the clinical and practice leadership team.
- Hold regular team meetings and performance reviews.
- Foster a culture of respect, openness, and wellbeing.
- Be a visible, approachable leader for the whole team.
About You:
- RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon.
- 6+ years’ experience, with a strong track record in clinical practice.
- A natural leader with excellent communication and mentoring skills.
- Comfortable balancing clinical responsibilities with leadership duties.
- Passionate about patient care, team wellbeing, and practice growth.
