Park Veterinary Hospital
Are you an experienced Small Animal Vet looking for a role that combines excellent clinical exposure with a genuine work-life balance? Park Veterinary Hospital is seeking a passionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and dedicated team on a part-time basis.
Based in Sheffield, the UK's "Outdoor City" and on the doorstep of the beautiful Peak District, our RCVS-accredited small animal hospital offers the opportunity to work in a progressive practice where a high standard of patient care, continuity of cases, and team support are at the heart of everything we do.
Why Join Us?
At Park Veterinary Hospital, you'll become part of a close-knit and experienced team that enjoys managing cases from start to finish within one hospital setting. Our facilities and expertise allow us to provide exceptional first-opinion care, supported by visiting orthopaedic surgeons and a cardiologist.
Our team currently includes:
- 7 Veterinary Surgeons
- 9 Nurses
- 4 Receptionists
- Placement Nurses
- Dedicated Office Support Team
We are proud of our collaborative culture and our commitment to delivering excellent patient care while supporting one another professionally and personally.
A Great Work-Life Balance
Enjoy a great work-life balance with our current emergency care provision running from Monday 8am to Saturday 4pm. While we provide 24/7 on-site inpatient care supported by our amazing nursing team, our weekends after closing at 4pm on Saturday are free from emergency caseload responsibilities, aside from a Sunday clinic (10am-1pm).
The Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys a varied caseload and values continuity of care. As a practice, we provide our own inpatient care and emergency service, allowing you to follow cases through and build lasting relationships with clients and patients.
The role will involve:
- Part-time hours of up to 20 hours per week
- Flexible 8-10 hour shifts tailored where possible to suit the successful candidate
- Participation in our out-of-hours rota
- Some sole-charge responsibilities, including sessions at our branch practice in the picturesque village of Hathersage
- Supporting and collaborating with less experienced colleagues where required
Outside of opening hours, our vets share the role of triage emergency calls and come in as needed for emergency or inpatient care alongside our dedicated nursing team.
We understand the importance of flexibility and work closely with our team to create schedules that support both our service and our colleagues' lifestyles.
About You
We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who:
- Is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care
- Enjoys working within a first-opinion hospital environment
- Is comfortable with sole-charge responsibilities
- Is willing to support recently graduated vets
- Holds a full UK driving licence
