JR has an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join an outstanding Small Animal Hospital and Emergency Services Clinic in South Yorkshire. Established in 2002, this centre of excellence provides comprehensive 24/7 care to the wider community, handling both first-opinion and complex referral cases within the same hospital to deliver seamless, end-to-end patient care.
The hospital is equipped with market-leading advanced medical technology, including a CT scanner, rigid and flexible endoscopes, and ultrasound machines. You will work alongside an experienced clinical team of 15 Veterinary Surgeons (including a dedicated on-site out-of-hours team), 24 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses, 5 Animal Care Assistants, and a skilled non-clinical support team.
Role & Schedule Details:
- Position: Veterinary Surgeon (Permanent)
- Working Hours: Flexible options available including Full-Time, Part-Time, or Weekend Only roles.
- Weekend Rota: All vets participate in weekend cover—1 in 2 for full-time, 1 in 4 for part-time, or fixed weekend-only shifts depending on your preference.
- Caseload: Broad spectrum of advanced services including neurosurgery, orthopaedics, minimally invasive surgery, stem cell therapy, chemotherapy, and routine first-opinion cases.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Veterinary Surgeon (RCVS registered or eligible).
- Applications are welcomed from all career stages, from confident new graduates seeking supportive mentorship to experienced Vets looking to pursue certificates or advanced clinical skills.
- Confident in handling routine surgical and medical cases with a drive to work cases up to a high standard.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
