Looking to combine first-opinion continuity with access to advanced hospital diagnostics? A progressive clinical team in Surrey is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to work across a central hospital hub and local branch surgeries (approximately 2 days at the hospital and 2 days in branch practice).
This position provides clinical autonomy to manage a varied small animal caseload while benefiting from the collaborative support of multi-disciplinary certificate holders and experienced clinicians.
🏥 Practice & Facilities Highlights:
- Clinical Support: Experienced team including certificate holders across surgery, cardiology, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, ophthalmology, and anaesthesia.
- On-Site Equipment: Access to advanced facilities including a CT scanner, digital X-ray, ultrasound, advanced surgical suites, and dedicated inpatient facilities.
📅 Rota & Shift Pattern:
- Working Week: Full-time, 4-day week (8:30am – 7:00pm shifts).
- Shift Variations:
- 1:9 early shift (7:30am start)
- 1:9 late shift (until 9:30pm)
- 1:9 Saturdays (8:00am – 5:00pm)
- Out of Hours: No OOH duties required (covered externally).
📋 Responsibilities:
- First-opinion consultations, diagnostics, and medical work-ups.
- Routine soft tissue surgery and inpatient case management.
- Daily clinical handovers and case discussions across hospital and branch teams.
👤 Candidate Requirements:
- Active RCVS registration.
- Ideally 1+ years of post-graduate clinical experience.
- Confident with first-opinion consultations and routine soft tissue surgery.
- Driving licence preferred due to travel between branch locations.
- Support available for certificate studies (existing certificate holders also welcome).
💰 Package & Benefits:
- Salary: £55,000+ per annum (dependent on experience).
- CPD: Annual allowance + leave (certificate funding available).
- Schedule: 4-day working week with no out-of-hours cover.
