Overview GVC are supporting an established small animal practice on the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire border with the recruitment of a Veterinary Surgeon. Offering a 3.5-day working week, no out-of-hours work and a supportive clinical team, this is an excellent opportunity for a vet looking to develop their skills while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
The Role The successful candidate will join a collaborative team with a varied client base and two hands-on practice partners who work on site to support the team and day-to-day running of the practice.
The purpose-built, air-conditioned surgery is equipped with modern facilities, including dental and digital X-ray, ultrasound, multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring, a physiotherapy-grade laser and an in-house laboratory. Veterinary physiotherapy is also available.
Key details include:
- 40 hours per week across 3.5 days, with flexibility to negotiate working arrangements
- Part-time hours considered
- 1 in 3 Saturdays, 9am to 4pm
- Minimal sole-charge work
- No out-of-hours duties
- Salary of £40,000 to £60,000, depending on experience and FTE
About You The practice is ideally looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with at least 18 months' experience and a sound grounding in small animal medicine and surgery. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient and client care are essential.
