Located in a bustling high-street setting surrounded by local amenities and excellent transport links, this practice is firmly rooted in its community and boasts a remarkably loyal client base.
Role & Schedule Details:
- Position: Associate Veterinary Surgeon (Permanent)
- Hours: 42 hours per week (4 or 5-day week options considered)
- Out of Hours: No OOH / No night duties
- Weekend Rota: 1 in 3 weekends (Saturday 08:00–13:00 & Sunday 10:00–16:00, consults only; limited sole charge)
- Bank Holidays: 1 bank holiday per year with Time Off in Lieu (TOIL)
- Salary: £66,000 – £70,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Practice Highlights & Clinical Setup:
- Varied Caseload: Genuine 50/50 balance between consulting and surgery with an emphasis on keeping cases in-house and working them up thoroughly.
- Team & Support: Work alongside an experienced Lead Vet team, Associate Vets, and visiting advanced certificate holders in surgery.
- Nursing Team: Exceptional support from 3 RVNs (including a Clinical Coach) and an SVN who run their own nurse clinics and schedule procedures, leaving vets free to focus on clinical care.
- Facilities: Fully equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, modern dental suite, and comprehensive surgical and anaesthetic monitoring.
Candidate Requirements:
- MRCVS registered (or eligible) with the right to work in the UK.
- Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in UK small animal practice.
- Confident with first-opinion consultations, diagnostics, routine soft tissue surgery, and dentistry.
- Comfortable with limited sole charge during weekend consulting shifts.
- An interest in internal medicine is welcomed, though not essential.
