About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced small animal Vet with an interest in Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) to join a supportive, progressive, and well-equipped hospital team.
You’ll work a 7 nights on / 14 nights off rota (18:45–08:15), managing inpatients and emergencies from the practice’s own client base only—meaning no external OOH pressures. You’ll have dedicated time and support to fully work up cases and deliver a high standard of care, while still enjoying significant downtime.
You’ll be supported by an experienced overnight RVN and PCA, with on-site facilities that include digital imaging, advanced diagnostics, and surgical capability from routine to orthopaedic. Rest facilities are provided for all night staff.
The Facilities
24-hour hospital with in-house laboratory and extensive diagnostic equipment
Capable of performing a wide range of surgeries, from routine to advanced orthopaedics
Dedicated overnight team with nurse and PCA support
Comfortable staff rest areas for overnight shifts
Who We’re Looking For
A confident Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for ECC and high clinical standards
Excellent communicator who works well in a busy, collaborative team
Someone keen to develop further, potentially through certificate study
Commitment to providing exceptional patient and client care
Work Culture & Development
The team is large, established, and genuinely collaborative, with over 16 vets and 30 nursing staff supported by senior clinical leaders. There’s a strong culture of ongoing learning, with several vets currently completing certificates in internal medicine, surgery, and exotics.
This is an ideal environment for a Vet who thrives on varied clinical work, values case continuity, and enjoys having both challenge and support in equal measure.
