🏥 About the Practice & Advanced Facilities
This is a well-established, locally owned standalone site embedded in the West Midlands community. Co-owned by highly experienced surgeons—including an advanced certificate holder—the clinic prides itself on exceptional clinical care without corporate micro-management.
This role offers a supportive environment where you will have full clinical freedom to manage a varied, exclusively small animal caseload (predominantly dogs and cats, with a high percentage of insured clients). For a vet looking to expand their skill set, there are clear development opportunities to help guide and mentor junior colleagues.
- The practice is equipped to an exceptional standard, boasting:
- Laparoscopy & Endoscopy
- Kyon TPLO equipment & Harmonic Scalpel
- Dental X-ray & K-Laser
- Conveniently located within 45 minutes of a top-tier referral hospital for rare, complex cases.
🏆 The Vision – Zero Pain Philosophy:
The clinical team is currently actively working towards becoming a Zero Pain Accredited Practice. If you have a passion for cutting-edge analgesia and advanced multimodal pain management, your support will be vital in helping them achieve this milestone.
📅 What The Day Looks Like:
Diary management is strictly protected within the clinic to ensure leaving on time is a daily reality:
- Opening Hours: 8am – 7pm weekdays (Closed weekends). Bank holidays are shared fairly on a rota basis.
- Breathing Room: Standard 15-minute consult blocks, with 30 minutes allocated for complex cases.
- Catch-Up Blocks: Catch-up and admin slots are hard-coded into the diary every 60–90 minutes alongside dedicated time for client phone calls.
- Surgical Variety: Every vet is guaranteed at least one full operating day per week.
- Rota Flexibility: The practice can accommodate a flexible rota, generally offering a set weekday off every week and a 1-in-3 early Friday finish.
👤 About You:
The ideal candidate will be a proactive clinician with at least 2 years of solid practice experience who is ready to thrive in an autonomous yet highly supportive framework.
- You possess strong general surgical and medical skills (or a genuine enthusiasm to develop these further via funded certificates).
- You bring a positive attitude, a good sense of humor, and a growth-oriented mindset to a welcoming team that includes an RVN Practice Manager, a stable nurse team led by a long-standing Head Nurse, and dedicated Client Care Advisors.
