Up to £72,000 DOE
St George's Vets, Wolverhampton
Wolverhampton, West Midlands, United Kingdom
At St Georges Vets, we have an exciting opportunity for a vet to join us at our main hospital located in the centre of Wolverhampton.
Our ideal candidate would help to drive forward our orthopaedic and soft tissue services within the hospital and mentor other veterinary surgeons who are interested in this field.
The role would suit someone who holds a certificate in surgery, however, is not essential. This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet looking to utilise their certificate in a hospital based role with surgical bias.
We are offering a competitive salary of up to £72,000 dependent on experience
Hours & Rota
Our vets usually work 4 days per week with 1 in 5 weekends worked at the hospital, between the hours of 8:30am and 6:30pm, however we offer flexible working patterns that work with you and your lifestyle. Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours offers a balance that truly flexes with you and your lifestyle. Whether you were looking for a 40-hour working week, or a shorter working week we would love to hear from you!
Our RCVS accredited hospital in Wolverhampton has a fully equipped lab, and diagnostic facilities including onsite CT, digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental X-ray, and video endoscopy. We offer a range of services such as TPLO/laparoscopic surgery/physiotherapy/k-laser.
Wolverhampton is in based in the heart of the Midlands and with great transport links meaning you are only a short journey away from the countryside, enabling you to get the best of both worlds, city life and the great outdoors!
We have an established track record of developing our vets from new graduates to senior vets. We are recognised by the RCVS as a graduate development practice and our team contains certificate holders in diagnostic imaging, surgery, and medicine. We also have several colleagues studying towards certificates including ECC.
If you are an ambitious vet with a strong track record and aptitude for surgery, who would like to study for a certificate, we would love to hear from you!
Holding a certificate in surgery or be very near on completion of a surgery certificate would be advantageous. We are particularly keen to speak to vets with TPLO or Laparoscopy experience. This is not essential, but training for these procedures will be a requirement of the role.
