The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly Veterinary Surgeon who is focused on clinical excellence and teamwork. You will be part of our busy, experienced clinical team and the role will cover all first opinion work, with a primary focus on consulting. During the week, our 3 surgeries are open 08:30 - 19:00. As part-time, a 1 to 3 day week can be considered, with shift pattern to be discussed, preferably joining a rota of 1:6 Saturday mornings consulting. There are no OOH or bank holiday work.
Salary
The salary for this role is up to £60,00 (FTE) depending on experience.
About Us
Downland Vet Group are a long-established 12-site Group, across three south coast counties: Hampshire, West Sussex, and East Sussex. In East Sussex we are sandwiched between the edge of the South Downs and the stunning chalk cliffs of the coast. Across the Group we have certificate holders in orthopaedics, surgery, medicine, cardiology, and imaging which greatly supports our in-house referrals; plus, in East Sussex one of our vet team are currently undertaking a certificate in ECC. Within East Sussex, we have 3 surgeries for you to work between; Hailsham and The Goffs are consulting & operating surgeries, whilst Stone Cross is consulting only.
We are well-equipped with the typical first-opinion facilities, including digital x-rays, laboratory and diagnostics, dental x-rays, ultrasound machine and multi-parameter monitors. We are looking for a first-opinion vet to join our progressive team but will always consider further teammates with additional skills or those looking to develop specific areas.
About the Team and Culture
We are a very warm, supportive, and friendly team who offer our clients and patients the highest standard of care. Between the commitment to our roles and dedication to our patients, we spend much of our time laughing with each other. In East Sussex, we have a team of 6 veterinary surgeons, 10 nurses and 12 support staff who share the same vision for growth within the practice. We have two fun team events each year, summer, and winter, for us to come together outside of work along with baby showers, engagement parties, big birthday celebration events throughout the year too.
