Part time role, independent practice, genuine clinical freedom, 2 or 3 days per week

When You Are Ready For Work That Feels Good Again

If you are an experienced vet who wants to make a meaningful difference, without running yourself into the ground, this role may be exactly what you have been hoping to find.
If you crave clinical freedom, kind colleagues, and the feeling of being truly valued, you will feel at home here.

The Opportunity

We are working with a respected independent practice in West Sussex that has built something rare. This is a team that believes excellent care starts with looking after the people who deliver it. They have created a warm, calm environment where vets are trusted, supported, and given the freedom to practice medicine with integrity.

You will split your time between their state of the art hospital site and a thriving branch clinic. Both have been designed to feel comforting and homely, rather than clinical and cold. It is the kind of place where clients linger at reception because they feel welcome, and where the team genuinely enjoys coming to work.

They are looking for a part time Veterinary Surgeon who brings kindness, curiosity, and a strong general practice skill set. Someone who appreciates collaboration, communicates with empathy, and wants to be part of a team that lifts each other up. They are happy to consider a consult only vet as well.

Success in this role looks like delivering thoughtful, personalised first opinion care, building relationships with clients you enjoy, and working alongside a night team and referral service that allow you to provide continuity without sacrificing your life outside work.

Why This Role Is Different

A team that lives its values

A culture shaped around humility, respect, empathy, work ethic, honesty, communication, and teamwork. These are not buzzwords. They guide every decision.

A genuinely close group that is constructive, encouraging, and kind. People stay because they feel safe, supported, and appreciated.

A clinical environment built to help you thrive

A purpose built hospital with advanced equipment and an on site night team, so your cases receive 24-7 continuity without you losing sleep.

A beautifully designed branch clinic with a warm, home from home feel that makes consults calmer for both you and your clients.

Work that is meaningful but sustainable

Two or three day working pattern, with standard 10 hour shifts and protected one hour lunch breaks.

Flexibility to adjust shift times where needed, as long as fairness across the vet team is maintained.

Fair contribution to weekends, bank holidays, and on call rotas, discussed collaboratively at interview.

A practice that invests in your growth

Funded CPD at £1,500 per year or £2,000 for Advanced Practitioners.

Five CPD days and certificate funding available for those who want to progress.

Your Journey Here

In Your First Month:
You will get to know the team, understand their systems, and settle into both clinical sites. The focus is on relationships, confidence, and feeling supported rather than performance.

In Your First Three Months:
You will be consulting and managing cases with increasing autonomy, collaborating closely with the night team and referral service, and exploring CPD that aligns with your interests.

In Your First Six Months:
You will be a trusted, integral member of the team. If you choose to pursue a certificate, you will have the backing to do so. You will help shape the continued growth of a practice that truly values your voice.
