We are seeking a highly competent and experienced Out-of-Hours (OOH) Veterinary Surgeon to join the dedicated ECC team at a leading RCVS Accredited Hospital and Emergency Clinic. This role is perfect for a Vet ready to handle a complex and challenging caseload with the structure of an enviable rota.
The Role Requires High-Level Skill:
- Complex Surgery: Must be capable of independently performing emergency procedures such as caesareans, pyometras, exploratory laparotomy (with enterotomy/enterectomy), and complex fracture management.
- Critical Medicine: Confidence managing severe medical cases, including ketoacidotic diabetes, Addisonian crises, and severe pancreatitis.
- Experience: Previous OOH/ECC veterinary experience is strongly preferred.
Exceptional Rota & Support Structure
- Schedule: 7 nights on, followed by 14 nights off (8:00 PM – 8:00 AM shifts).
- Dedicated Team: Work alongside a full night support structure, including an RVN, VCA, and twilight nursing support until midnight.
- Consults: Standard 30-minute OOH consults allow for thorough case management.
Advanced Facilities & Development
Join a large, supportive team (70+ colleagues) utilizing the best equipment to manage a diverse caseload from both their own general practice and 16 local feeder practices.
- Equipment: Access to Digital X-ray, advanced Doppler ultrasound, CT, Laparoscopy, Endoscopy suite, EPOC, and full Transfusion Medicine capabilities.
- CPD & Certificates: Annual CPD allowance with full Certificate sponsorship encouraged.
- In-House Expertise: Direct support available from day team Certificate holders across Surgery, Medicine, Endosurgery, and Dentistry for complex cases.
Salary dependent upon experience.
