Are you an experienced General Practitioner seeking advanced clinical development in a supportive hospital environment?
We are recruiting for a full-time Day Team Veterinary Surgeon to join a highly dynamic and proactive clinical team. This role is based within an RCVS Accredited Hospital and offers a fantastic opportunity to specialize, with certificate-level support built directly into the rota.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced GP: Must have strong UK first opinion experience and be a capable all-rounder in both medicine and surgery.
- Development Focus: Keen interest in pursuing a Certificate (full sponsorship provided).
- Special Interest: We are also keen to hear from Vets experienced in Ophthalmology, offering the potential to combine the role with specialist clinics to develop our referral services.
Structured Rota & Clinical Variety
This position is designed to balance hands-on work with protected development time:
- Work Pattern: 4-day week (Mon-Fri).
- Shift Structure: Structured mix of shifts, including: 1 x Surgical shift, 1 x Inpatient shift, and 2 x Consulting shifts per week.
- Consults: Standard 30-minute sick pet consults allow for thorough case work-up.
- Weekends: Manageable 1 in 4 weekends (10-hour shifts, no sole charge, mainly ECC/inpatient care).

- CPD: Annual CPD allowance and Certificate sponsorship encouraged.
- Support: In-house support from Certificate holders (Surgical, Medicine, Dentistry).

- Facilities: Access to hospital-grade equipment including Digital X-ray, advanced Ultrasound, and dedicated wards (ISFM Gold Accredited).
- Note: This role is NOT open to new or inexperienced graduates needing basic training. Strong CVs illustrating significant UK experience are essential.
Important Candidate Requirements:
Due to the high standards of care and complexity of the hospital environment, this position is not suitable for new graduates or Vets requiring basic training. We require experienced clinicians with demonstrably strong CVs and significant recent experience within UK practices.
