JR Veterinary is pleased to recruit on behalf of a thriving, family-run, 24-hour Hospital in West Yorkshire. Due to continued growth, they are looking for two part-time Day Vets to join their forward-thinking team. This independent-feel hospital features a recent physical extension that has tripled its working space, a fantastic array of equipment, and an external CT imaging provider, allowing you to seamlessly work up complex medical, surgical, and dental cases in-house.

With a highly supportive clinical team—including multiple in-house certificate holders and a dedicated management framework featuring a trained Mental Health First Aider—this environment ensures you can truly focus on delivering gold-standard patient care.

📅 The Opportunities (Fixed Shift Patterns)

We are seeking candidates for two distinct part-time contracts:

Position 1: Part-Time Day Vet (21 Hours per Week)

• Midweek Shift: 1 shift per week on either a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday (8.5 hours; either 9am–6pm or 11am–8pm). Standard 30-minute sick-pet consultations.
• Friday Shift: 7.5 hours covering either surgery or hospital inpatient duties. Hours vary depending on rota: 7:30am–3:30pm, 12:30pm–8:30pm (Inpatients), or 9am–5pm (Surgery).
• Weekends: 1 in 4 weekends (equivalent to 5 hours per week). Working alongside a full hospital team and 2 other vets, focusing strictly on ECC and sick-pet hospital care. Rota shifts on Sat & Sun vary: 7:30am–6pm, 9:30am–8pm, or 10am–8:30pm.

Position 2: Part-Time CONSULT-ONLY Vet (22 Hours per Week)

• Midweek Shifts: 2 consult-only shifts per week on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday (8.5 hours each; either 9am–6pm or 11am–8pm). Standard 30-minute sick-pet consultations.
• Weekends: 1 in 4 weekends (equivalent to 5 hours per week). Working as one of 3 vets alongside the full hospital team covering emergency procedures, ECC, and sick pets. Sat & Sun shifts vary: 7:30am–6pm, 9:30am–8pm, or 10am–8:30pm.

Candidates with a particular interest or experience in ophthalmology or dermatology (with the scope to build your own referral clinics) are highly desirable.
