A 24/7 Veterinary Hospital based in West Yorkshire is seeking two part-time Veterinary Surgeons to join their large, proactive 70-colleague team (including 15 vets).
These 21-to-22-hour per week contracts are highly adaptable. They are ideal for vets looking to supplement an existing position with a diverse hospital caseload and emergency weekend experience, or for locums seeking a permanent hospital base with built-in clinical development and team support.
The hospital is also highly encouraging of vets with Ophthalmology or Dermatology experience who would like to run focused clinics and grow their caseload within a part-time contract.
The Hospital Environment
- Facilities: Equipped with an Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Laparoscopy, and a CT Scanner.
- Case Variety: Provides referral work and OOH hospital cover for 19 practices across the region.
- In-House Expertise: Direct, on-site clinical support from Surgical, Medicine, and Dentistry Certificate holders.
Available Positions & Rotas
Position 1: Part-Time Vet (21-Hour Contract)
- Weekday Shift 1: Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday (8.5 hours; either 09:00–18:00 or 11:00–20:00). Standard 30-minute sick-pet consultations.
- Weekday Shift 2: Friday (7.5 hours; hours vary depending on assignment: 07:30–15:30 or 12:30–20:30 for In-Patients, or 09:00–17:00 for Surgery).
- Weekend Rota: 1 in 4 weekends (5 hours per week equivalent). Working as one of three vets alongside a full hospital team handling ECC and sick pets only. Shifts are Sat & Sun: 07:30–18:00, 09:30–20:00, or 10:00–20:30.
Position 2: Part-Time Vet – Consult Only (22-Hour Contract)
- Weekday Shifts: Two shifts per week chosen from Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday (8.5 hours each; either 09:00–18:00 or 11:00–20:00). Strictly consulting shifts featuring standard 30-minute sick-pet consults.
- Weekend Rota: 1 in 4 weekends (5 hours per week equivalent). Working as one of three vets with the full hospital team on ECC and sick pets only. Shifts are Sat & Sun: 07:30–18:00, 09:30–20:00, or 10:00–20:30.
