Veterinary Surgeon – West Yorkshire
Location: Across multiple practices in West Yorkshire
Hours: Four days per week, Monday to Friday only – no weekends, no OOH
Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum (depending on experience)

GVC are proud to be assisting a well-established veterinary group in West Yorkshire in their search for an experienced Roving Veterinary Surgeon.

The Team & Facilities
The group is known for its clinical standards and commitment to patient and client care. Many of the practices are Cat-Friendly accredited and run 15-minute consults as standard.
The main hospital is purpose-built and offers:
- Spacious waiting areas with separate dog/cat zones
- Air-conditioned consult rooms
- Fully equipped theatres
- Advanced imaging including X-ray, ultrasound, CT, with visiting MRI
- Dedicated dental suite with X-ray facilities
- Referral-level services such as dermatology, ophthalmology, and surgery
There’s also access to advanced procedures including laparoscopy, orthopaedics, cardiology, ophthalmology, endoscopy, and rehabilitation services (physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, laser therapy).
The team across sites is large, friendly, and highly supportive, with many vets pursuing certificates in fields such as surgery, imaging, dermatology, and cardiology. There’s also a strong social side, with organised events, wellbeing initiatives, and mental health first aiders available.
What’s Needed
- Confidence to work sole charge when required, as well as within a hospital team.
- Comfortable handling a mix of consulting, routine surgeries, and emergency cases.
- Ability to perform routine and non-routine surgeries with care and precision.
- Strong decision-making skills, from interpreting diagnostics to managing complex treatment plans.
- Adaptability, resilience, and confidence in a roving role.
