Who They Are
GVC is supporting a well-established first-opinion small animal practice in Halifax, West Yorkshire with a loyal client base and a friendly, experienced team. The practice operates from a purpose-built facility with three consulting rooms and a fully equipped operating theatre, offering a strong environment for both routine and more complex clinical work. Out-of-hours is provided by a nearby hospital service, keeping this position firmly focused on first-opinion care and work-life balance.
What You’ll Do
This role suits a Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys true first-opinion practice and values consistent clinical standards in a collaborative team. You’ll:
- Deliver high-quality consultations, diagnostics and case management with clear plans and continuity
- Manage a varied medical and surgical caseload, applying safe, evidence-led decision making
- Operate within agreed clinical standards while retaining clinical autonomy in the patient’s best interest
- Communicate clearly with clients to support informed consent and excellent ongoing care
- Contribute positively to team case discussions and day-to-day support
- (Optional) Take on mentoring and develop leadership capability over time, if that’s of interest
Working pattern
- 40 hours per week across 4 or 5 days
- No OOH
- Part-time rotas considered
