A genuine 4 day week. A varied, meaningful caseload. Veterinary care built on values, not profit.
If you want your work to matter again
If you are an experienced veterinary surgeon who wants clinical variety, proper support, and the time to do right by both pets and people, this could be the role you have been quietly hoping to find.
Not a treadmill. Not firefighting. A place where good medicine and good values still come first.
The Opportunity
We are working with a purpose driven small animal practice in Wrexham, that has built something genuinely different. This is a team delivering high quality veterinary care while actively removing the financial barriers that stop pets getting treated.
The practice is part of a UK Community Interest Company, which means decisions are guided by purpose, sustainability, and fairness rather than shareholder profit. The focus is on clinical outcomes, accessibility, and long term stability for the team.
They are now looking for a veterinary surgeon who enjoys a varied caseload, values collaboration, and wants to practice medicine in a way that feels ethical and sustainable.
Why This Role Is Different
A caseload that keeps you engaged
You will see a broad mix of consults and surgeries, with the freedom to work cases up properly. The structure supports clinical decision making rather than rushing or cutting corners.
Facilities that genuinely support good medicine
The practice has four consulting rooms, two fully equipped theatres, and separate dog and cat wards to reduce stress and improve patient care. Everything is designed to let you focus on being a vet.
No hierarchy, just teamwork
There is no traditional clinical hierarchy here. Vets, nurses, and support staff are encouraged to contribute ideas, challenge decisions constructively, and support one another. Everyone’s voice carries weight.
Values you can stand behind
Free consultations and transparent pricing allow pets to receive treatment that might otherwise be out of reach. For many vets, this is what makes the work feel meaningful again.
Your Journey Here
In your first month, you will settle into the team, learn the systems, and get comfortable with how the practice approaches clinical decision making and client communication.
By three months, you will be confidently managing your own caseload, collaborating closely with experienced nurses, and identifying areas where you want to develop further.
By six months, you will be a trusted, established member of the team, with support to pursue funded CPD or certificates and the opportunity to help shape how the practice continues to evolve.
