Adaptix has installed its first Adaptix VetSA3D system in a fully mobile veterinary practice, operated by Adele Wharton of The Small Pet Vet.

The Adaptix VetSA3D is one of the most advanced portable imaging systems in the world, delivering high-resolution 3D images in minutes and enabling vets to see bones, joints, and soft tissue with exceptional clarity and at a lower radiation dose than established 3D imaging methods.

For pet owners, this means faster diagnoses and fewer referrals; for pets, it means less stress and quicker treatment.

Adele Wharton, founder of The Small Pet Vet, said: “The Adaptix VetSA3D system is going to be absolutely game changing for us as a practice. We always thought that radiography was something we wouldn’t be able to offer on the mobile unit but last year, I saw a presentation from Adaptix at the British Veterinary Zoological Society conference that got me thinking. Over a year of discussions and testing later, and here we are!

“As a mobile veterinary practice, having the Adaptix VetSA3D on board massively increases the services we can offer our clients. The quality of the images is simply incredible - so much more than ‘just’ X-ray - meaning it can be used for everything from straight-forward diagnostic imaging to pre- and post-operative imaging for surgical procedures.

“By reducing the need for travel, waiting and hospitalisation, we can improve services for both animals and their owners, reducing stress, speeding diagnosis and improving treatment. We’re thrilled to be working with such a great team and can’t wait to start taking this service out to patients."

Adaptix and The Small Pet Vet worked closely to bring their vision of truly mobile 3D imaging in a mobile veterinary practice to life, with the system undergoing rigorous design and testing to ensure a seamless installation. The UK veterinary industry has seen significant growth in mobile vet practices over recent years, with patients appreciating the increased convenience and reduced stress they offer, especially for anxious pets.

James Beal, Director of Clark Dental Veterinary – Adaptix VetSA3D Distributor, commented: “This installation is a real milestone for Adaptix and the veterinary industry, demonstrating how cutting-edge imaging technology can travel to the to the point of patient care and transform access to high-quality diagnostics, improving outcomes for pets, wherever they are.To learn more about Adaptix VetSA3D, visit https://adaptix.com/veterinary
