Animal Trust Invests Over £750k In New Hull Veterinary Hospital

Animal Trust Vets will open a new independent, not-for-profit veterinary hospital in Hull in January 2027 following an investment of more than £750,000.
The hospital at The Point on Stoneferry Road will deliver first-opinion, emergency and surgical care for pets across Hull and East Yorkshire. It will operate 24 hours a day for emergencies and include an on-site laboratory, X-ray and ultrasound facilities.
Recruitment is now under way for veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses and support colleagues. The founding team will have the opportunity to help establish a growing practice with the ambition of becoming a community veterinary hub, and working closely alongside colleagues across Animal Trust’s wider practice network.
Clinical capability and accessible care
The purpose-designed site will support routine care, dentistry, surgery, inpatient care and emergency caseloads. Its diagnostic capability and wider clinical support will enable veterinary teams to investigate and manage a broad range of cases within the hospital.
For Animal Trust, investing in clinical capability goes hand in hand with making veterinary care more accessible. Its social-enterprise model is designed to balance high-quality clinical care with fair, transparent pricing, with the majority of profits reinvested into patient care.
At Hull, emergency appointments outside normal hours will carry a modest £80 supplement, giving clients greater clarity about the cost of accessing emergency care.
The hospital is being designed around a simple principle: the right care, at the right cost, with animal welfare at the centre of clinical decision-making.

Building the founding Hull team
Roles will span the clinical and operational team. Animal Trust is seeking veterinary professionals who want exposure to general practice, emergency and surgical cases, alongside colleagues in reception and other support functions who can help create a consistent experience for clients and their pets.
The new hospital is intended to be an environment where veterinary professionals can use their expertise in practice, supported by appropriate facilities, diagnostics and colleagues across the wider organisation.
As part of Animal Trust’s wider practice network, the Hull team will have access to clinical colleagues beyond the site. Collaboration across disciplines and locations will support case discussion, knowledge sharing and professional development, while enabling team members to make full use of their individual skills and expertise.
The founding team will also play an important role in contributing to the culture of the new hospital, with a shared focus on animal welfare, clinical quality, teamwork and the needs of the local community.

A community-based hospital for Hull
The hospital will serve Hull and surrounding East Yorkshire communities, with free on-site parking and access from major routes including the A1033, A1079, A165 and A63.
Registration for pet owners is expected to open in December 2026, ahead of the January 2027 opening.
