Harrison Family Vets Opens Third Practice

A modern, new veterinary practice has opened in Didsbury, South of Manchester City Centre, following a £350,000 investment that has created six new jobs.
Harrison Family Vets opened its doors earlier this month at Unit 2, 751-807 Princess Road, and the practice has been completely designed around the pets it will treat.
Independent, and family-owned, Harrison Family Vets launched in the UK last year with a practise in Woodley, near Reading and it opened another practice in Kingswinford in the West Midlands at the start of this year.
The Didsbury practice is headed up by vet Dan Grundy, who has 15 years’ experience practicing in the Manchester area. He will lead a team of five, including experienced registered veterinary nurses Kristie Edwards and Katarina Opacic, and a fantastic front house team in care co-ordinators Lisa Dolan and Kirstie Hunns.
Dan said: “Our industry has faced various challenges recently, as the number of people owning a pet has increased significantly over the last few years and particularly during the pandemic. With some new owners struggling to find a practice to register their new pets with, we’ve immediately hit the ground running.
“In response to feedback from clients at our first two practices, we will be providing preventative products and services to keep pets healthy through our Total Wellness Plan for dogs, cats, and rabbits here in Didsbury too.
“Many new owners want the peace of mind of having a regular cost-saving monthly payment that covers vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, but the Total Wellness Plan also includes unlimited veterinary consult fees and a full annual MOT including urine and blood tests. The new practice includes an innovative waiting area that feature bespoke pods, which are all spaced at least two metres apart, giving clients their own space and shielding pets from the stresses of facing other pets in a traditional waiting room. Each pod has its own screen displaying pet jokes and facts through to information about pet welfare and nutrition.
Tim Harrison, managing director at Harrison Family Vets, said: “We have done a lot of research and put plenty of thought into the design of our practice, which has separate dog and cat wards that have been designed with mood lighting, pet-friendly aromas, and music to create a calming atmosphere. There are also four consulting rooms, a digital X-ray suite that includes dental X-ray facilities, an operating theatre and ultrasonography.
“We chose this part of Didsbury because it was a great site with plenty of parking and we felt that we could offer people from the pet-loving community something different. Pet care, customer service and employee wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do, we want our clients to have the very best experience every time they come to see us, and we make sure this happens by having a fabulous and dedicated team of professional, pet loving vets and nurses.”
Harrison Family Vets is currently offering a £15 vaccination promotion which includes a full health check at the time of the vaccination, as well as a six month follow up health check. Even if a pet isn’t due their vaccination yet, new clients can register now, and the £15 offer will be honoured when the vaccination is due.
