KRKA UK will be presenting “Rethinking Canine Osteoarthritis – From Pathogenesis to Practice” at this year’s London Vet Show. The session, led by orthopaedic specialist Professor Stuart Carmichael FRCVS, will take place on Thursday 20th November 2025, 14:00 –14:50, in Exhibitor Showcase Theatre 2, and forms part of Krka’s continued commitment to supporting veterinary professionals with practical, evidence-based resources for managing osteoarthritis (OA).

Building on key insights from KRKA’s popular OA podcast series and Vet2Vet Insight guides, the session will explore how a deeper understanding of underlying pathology can support better long-term outcomes in dogs with OA. With a focus on early intervention and setting patients up for success from a young age, Professor Carmichael will share strategies for lifelong management, including the role of owner education, appropriate diagnostics, and a balanced approach to pain relief, from established options to emerging therapies.

Professor Carmichael commented, “Osteoarthritis remains one of the most common and challenging conditions seen in general practice. Our aim is to give veterinary teams the confidence to recognise and manage OA earlier, using practical, evidence-based tools that fit real-world consults.”

Joining Professor Carmichael will be Renzo Di Florio MRCVS, KRKA Technical Veterinary Adviser, who will complement the session with insights from first-opinion practice. Together, they will connect scientific understanding with day-to-day clinical application, offering veterinary teams clear, actionable strategies for managing OA more effectively.

Visitors to Stand U50 can also meet the KRKA UK team and learn more about its growing veterinary portfolio and educational initiatives, including the recently launched OA factsheet series  and webinar on the KRKA Veterinary Knowledge Hub.
