Mars Horsecare Appoints New General Manager

Mars Horsecare, home of the SPILLERS™ brand, is excited to announce that Fiona Cayzer has been appointed as General Manager. Fiona was previously Chief Financial Officer for Mars Horsecare and replaces Gordon Smith, who will be retiring at the end of 2024.
Gordon Smith joined Mars Horsecare in 2003. He was promoted from Marketing and Sales Director to General Manager in 2020. Throughout this time and with the support of the Mars Horsecare team, Gordon has delivered strong growth, winning in the category and gaining market share. As a principles-based leader Gordon ensured that the business, which includes the UK’s best known horse feed brand SPILLERS™ and the US based brand BUCKEYE™, has continually made the world better for horses through high quality products and superior service.
“Mars Horsecare is an incredible business with iconic brands, such as SPILLERS,” said Gordon. “I’m hugely proud of the progress we’ve made across the portfolio in recent years and especially of all our people, who I’d like to thank for their skill and commitment. Fiona is a brilliant choice as the next GM, and I’m sure will accelerate progress in 2025 and beyond with the support of a highly performing leadership group.”
Fiona Cayzer joined Mars Horsecare in 2013 and has since held a succession of finance roles across the UK and US. During this time Fiona has been instrumental in driving profitability, delivering digital tools, and transforming the finance team.
Fiona intends to build on the progress made in Horsecare in recent years, focusing on executing and evolving Horsecare’s strategy and continuing to make a better world for horses. In the role, Fiona also hopes to focus on two of her areas of passion, developing people and driving digitalisation. Fiona will continue to be based at the Mars Horsecare headquarters in Milton Keynes, UK but will take responsibility for both the UK and US businesses.
