Some of the most important challenges being faced by the equine sector will be addressed at the 32ndNational Equine Forum (NEF24), to be held at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), London on Thursday 7th March 2024.

The inspiring programme, which will also be livestreamed, will shine a spotlight on some of the issues affecting the equine sector from licensing, health and welfare, accessibility, and sustainability. Presentations will be delivered by a government minister, leading vets and industry professionals, with opportunities for delegates to pose questions and join the discussions.

“The National Equine Forum has built a strong reputation for its pertinent programmes, exceptional speakers and animated discussions,” said Tim Brigstocke. “This year promises to be no exception. We hope to unravel and explore many current themes impacting the equine sector and hope you will be able to join us either in person or via the livestream.”

The Equine Industry in a Changing World will include contributions from the government and key industry figures.

Equine health and welfare will be led by veterinary professionals to look at how vets, vet nurses, horse owners and paraprofessionals can work together to best effect for the good of the horse.

Donkey skins update will cover the situation on the trade in donkey skins since the last update at NEF in 2020.

Industry Access will review the BEF’s Horses for All strategy and explore the accessibility of riding, with the inclusion of case studies.

The afternoon will be rounded off with two short topical sessions, followed by the Memorial Lecture, before the winner the Sir Colin Spedding Award 2024 winner is announced.

Q&A opportunities have been built in at the end of all the main sessions to give the audience and the livestream viewers a chance to engage with the discussions.

Further information and tickets will be available via the NEF website soon: https://www.nationalequineforum.com/forum-2024/
