NVS Launch Digestive Health Content Hub To Celebrate New Products
To mark the launch of five new digestive health products, NVS Select Healthcare have developed a free-access digestive content hub for veterinary professionals. The hub contains a wealth of resources on digestive health, from vet-written articles to podcasts and span topics including the microbiome, the gut’s role in immunity and toxin ingestion. The resources support the range’s new products: Prorestore +, Movipet, Duostart, Glandvet and Activated Charcoal which join last year’s releases Duotox and Digestive Paste to complete a comprehensive range. More information on the products can be found online at NVS and the hub can be accessed at www.nvsweb.co.uk/our-brands/select-from-nvs/digestive-health-hub/
“The new products are all designed with vets and their patients in mind. They’re useful everyday products to help combat some of the most commonly seen conditions in practice. There is a strong emphasis on supporting the microbiome in each product, which supports dogs and cats in various stages of life,” explains Malcolm Dickinson, Head of Product Management at NVS. “We also wanted to create a bank of resources to support learning around digestive health, as we know digestive health is so closely related to overall health of our cats and dogs.”
The content hub is home to a webinar, multiple articles on different aspects of digestive health, two podcasts, an animation and information on how the products can support pets during episodes of gastrointestinal upset. “We hope the hub will act as a central base of knowledge that veterinary teams can refer back to time and time again. The webinar and podcasts in particular are well worth a listen and a watch as they are full of useful information delivered by vets.” Malcolm explains.
The new range focuses heavily on supporting the microbiome, which is integral to maintaining good digestive health. Through its communication with the brain via the gut-brain axis and its intimate relationship with gut immunity, a healthy microbiome underpins the basis of good health, and every measure should be taken to optimise good microbial diversity. With its unique formulations the new range supports conditions from anal gland health to hairballs with a unique product aimed at neonates for early-life gut support and a triple-action symbiotic pre-, pro-, and postbiotic supplement. The range includes:
- Prorestore + – A triple-action symbiotic with Pre, Pro and Postbiotics to help support a healthy gut microbiota.
- GlandVet -Designed to support anal gland health and support the gut microbiome.
- Activated Charcoal -Highly palatable product to help with absorption and excretion of unwanted substances.
- Duostart – Complementary feed with colostrum and beneficial bacteria to support the natural development of new-born puppies and kittens.
- MoviPet - Assists in the removal of hairballs in cats, especially long-haired or stressed individuals. Supports healthy intestinal movements.
As much thought has been given to the ease of administration as it has the formulation of products, and the range all boast highly palatable, easy-to-give paste and chews. The oral syringes come with extra wide nozzles for ease of use and the products are formulated to prevent sedimentation which enhances consistency and flow.
“Ensuring the products can easily be given to pets was important to us.” Malcolm continued, “Movipet in particular, which is tailored to cats is highly palatable and we see many cats eating it just like they would a treat. This gives real peace of mind to pet owners who don’t want to be struggling to get their pets to accept and take the products.”
