On Friday 9th and Saturday 10th June 2017, the VET Festival (VET: Veterinary Education Tomorrow)  is set to return to Loseley Park in Surrey and will introduce brand new clinical lecture streams and international speakers to the 2017 CPD line-up.

As a contemporary conference that inspires, informs and delights our veterinary profession, the outdoor VET Festival has surpassed all expectations and 2017 promises to be even better.

·       A choice of over 100 hours of lectures

·       8 streams presented by world-class global visionaries to deliver clinically relevant information for small animal           practice: Orthopaedics, Oncology & Soft Tissue, Neurology, Nursing, Rehabilitation, Internal Medicine,                         Endocrinology & Cardiology, Reproduction, Exotics & Behaviour and Wellness and Team Building

·       VETFest™ Interactive sessions providing vets with the opportunity to bring their own case study to be reviewed by                 experts

·       A Festival Village where top level exhibitors will demonstrate the very latest products and services

The 2017 conference theme - Wellness, is in response to the growing rise of veterinary professionals feeling disenchanted in their chosen career path and in recognition of the stress and concerns felt by many in their working life.

“45% of vets younger than 35 expressed concerns about their mental well-being in the past year.”

“70% of young vets feel unsupported during their first year of employment.”

“75% of vets who had a mental health problem said they would not talk about it with their colleagues.”

VET Festival aims to reenergise veterinary professionals and rekindle the passion by taking them back to how they felt when first entering the veterinary world.

This unique CPD event will bring veterinary professionals together to hear, learn and network and once again spark the enthusiasm to achieve good for all animals.

Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, Founder of VET Festival and Managing Director of Fitzpatrick Referrals, said “I have always intended that the VET Festival would be run by the veterinary profession, for veterinary professionals, with the aim to give back to the animal community. I think community is the key concept here, because the VET Festival is about looking after each other; not just as fellow veterinary professionals, but also as human beings. We all have dreams, hopes and aspirations to do our very best for every animal and to take care of their wellness on a day-to-day basis. We give endlessly of ourselves to take care of the wellness of the families that love these animals. But sometimes, in the midst of this vocation we can lose sense of ourselves and why we signed up in the first place. It is my firm commitment that the VET Festival will try to reinject enthusiasm, joy, compassion and integrity of purpose into the veterinary professionals of all kinds.  At the moral core of the VET Festival is the desire to take care of each other, as friends and colleagues and as a profession trying to do the right thing at all times, today and tomorrow.

In 2017 Veterinary Education for Tomorrow, which is everything that VET Festival stands for, shall take on a new meaning of wellness going into the future so that we can get all of our CPD requirements but also remain at the core of respect in society that we deserve, for dedicating our lives to the welfare of animals everywhere. I have personally chosen each and every one of the speakers to reflect their life experiences, both educationally and personally and in this endeavour I am not just excited but also deeply committed to delivering the best veterinary education platform in the most innovative environment, with the very best of intentions for each and every one of us – vet, client and most importantly, patient. I sincerely hope that we will all rejoice in this community spirit of mutual support and that we become stronger going forward together.”
