Date: Tuesday 13th October, 2026 - Tuesday 13th October, 2026
Start time: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Duration: 1 hour(s)
Cost: £395

This course provides an introduction to diagnostic ultrasound in equine medical cases. The day starts with a lecture on how to get the most out of your ultrasound machine and how to avoid common pitfalls. A series of interactive lectures follow, covering abdominal, thoracic and ocular ultrasonography with the group then dividing into small group sessions for some hands-on scanning under supervision to put these skills into practice.

There will be ample opportunity to practice what you have learnt on a variety of horses with a range of scanners.

Learning Outcomes
Apply an understanding of the ultrasound machine set-up in order to maximise functionality and therefore optimise image acquisition
Demonstrate the practical skills required to acquire accurate ultrasound images of diagnostic quality, and demonstrate a systematic approach to ultrasonography of the equine abdomen, thorax and eye.

This day can be combined with either/both the Equine Orthopaedic Ultrasound Day 2 (14th Oct) or Equine Basic Orthopaedics Day 3 (15th Oct) to create a detailed course of CPD, tailored to your own interests.

This workshop is kindly sponsored by IMV Imaging.
