Designed to enable you to practice your own ultrasound skills under the close guidance of recognised specialists, this workshop will increase your confidence in using the scanner for a wide range of clinical cases and is perfect for both new or recent graduates, or those looking to increase the use of ultrasound of the distal limb for common presentations.

ay Two offers a morning of lectures covering image optimisation while scanning structures of the distal limb, as well as using ultrasound to assess wounds or aid injection. The afternoon will allow you to put these new skills into practice, working in small groups, rotating through hands-on practical sessions, leaving you both confident and competent in orthopaedic ultrasound of the equine patient.

Learning Outcomes

· Demonstrate a logical approach to imaging and diagnosis of common soft tissue abnormalities affecting the equine distal limb.

· Demonstrate the practical skills required to acquire accurate ultrasound images of diagnostic quality of the equine distal limb.

The Venue

Leahurst campus

Located in the heart of rural Cheshire, 12 miles south of Liverpool, the Veterinary School's Leahurst campus employs over 350 staff, including over 100 veterinary surgeons and teaches veterinary students in all years of their studies, but especially those in their fourth and fifth years.

The site is home to two farms, two referral hospitals, and two of the Institute's three first-opinion practices.
