Join the Leahurst Equine Hospital orthopaedic team for a day of practical distal limb orthopaedics. This day is perfect for the new or recent graduate looking to increase their diagnostic and therapeutic skills, while under the supportive guidance of experienced clinicians.
Day Three offers a morning of lectures covering basic diagnostic anaesthesia and pitfalls before a series of “How to” sessions on common orthopaedic techniques, will look at optimising these in clinics. The afternoon will allow you to put these new skills into practice, with cadaver-based sessions helping to build confidence performing practical lameness investigations.
Learning Outcomes
· Demonstrate a logical approach to investigating common causes of lameness affecting the equine distal limb.
· Demonstrate the practical skills required to perform orthopaedic diagnostic or therapeutic procedures of the equine distal limb.

The Venue
Leahurst campus
Located in the heart of rural Cheshire, 12 miles south of Liverpool, the Veterinary School's Leahurst campus employs over 350 staff, including over 100 veterinary surgeons and teaches veterinary students in all years of their studies, but especially those in their fourth and fifth years.
The site is home to two farms, two referral hospitals, and two of the Institute's three first-opinion practices.
