Are you looking to dip your toe into orthopaedic surgery? Unsure about how to take the first steps?
This highly practical course aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills to perform common orthopaedic procedures confidently. Participants will receive guidance on commonly encountered conditions that can be managed effectively with an emphasis on the practical skills. Online lectures will be followed by an on-site practical day with synthetic bones and cadavers, giving you the opportunity to perform the procedures yourself, with guidance on hand for any help, tips and tricks.
Who is it for?
This course would benefit veterinary surgeons wishing to embark on orthopaedic procedures or refine and refresh their technique. Prior orthopaedic experience is not necessary as the procedures have been chosen to reflect commonly encountered surgeries that are suitable for anyone starting out in orthopaedics. The equipment required is relatively basic and often available in first opinion practice. Kit lists that are an economical and versatile starting point for investment in orthopaedic equipment will be discussed. This course is designed to familiarise you with orthopaedic surgery, help you progress your skills and hopefully spark a lifelong interest in orthopaedics.
