With alternative therapies gaining popularity among some clients, this comprehensive course aims to equip delegates with the skills to critically evaluate these modalities and provide evidence-based recommendations.

Throughout the course, delegates will explore various alternative therapies, including homeopathy, acupuncture, herbalism, and niche nutrition. Employing critical examination of scientific literature and case studies, the course will scrutinise the principles behind these therapies and assess their purported benefits. Additionally, it will address the risks associated with unlicensed nutraceuticals and over-the-counter products, teaching delegates how to evaluate their safety and efficacy. Delegates will also delve into effective communication strategies to ensure owner compliance, maintaining our client bond whilst prioritising patient welfare.

The course also investigates practices such as Reiki, animal communicators, touch therapy, massage, and hydrotherapy. Participants will evaluate the scientific basis behind these modalities and learn how to integrate evidence-based alternatives into their practice while steering clients away from modalities lacking scientific basis.

Topics to be covered include:

Evaluation of alternative therapies: homeopathy, acupuncture, herbalism, and niche nutrition - are they safe or effective?
Assessment of unlicensed nutraceuticals and over-the-counter products - and can we promote client compliance?
