About this course
Have you ever struggled to recognise if a patient with reported seizures is really having an epileptic seizure? Are you sometimes unsure about decision making when it comes to management of seizures in both the emergency setting and long-term management of epileptic patients?

This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to confidently approach the seizuring patient. It will look at recognising epileptic seizures and differentiating them from alternative paroxysmal episodes which may mimic seizures. We will review the classification and diagnostic approach to patients with epileptic seizures, with an emphasis on what can be done in a first opinion setting. Finally, this course will look at decision making when it comes to treatment of seizures including how to control seizures in the emergency setting, as well as long-term management of the epileptic patient.

This course is designed to help you develop a logical approach to the seizuring patient and will provide guidance regarding decision making when it comes to medical management and treatment options.

The webinars for this course will be pre-recorded and can be viewed as recorded versions throughout the course. A live Q&A session with the tutor will run on the following dates at 1.00pm London time
