Treatment strategies for suspensory ligament disease. Diagnosis and management of accessory ligament desmitis (forelimb and hindlimb). Diagnosis and management of distal sesamoidean ligament desmitis. Diagnosis and management of the common collateral ligament desmitides - eg distal interphalangeal, fetlock, and hock joints.

The Speakers

Roger is Professor of Equine Orthopaedics at the Royal Veterinary College, running a specialist orthopaedic service within the RVC and directing research into equine tendon disease.<br /> <br /> He qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Cambridge University in 1987 and, after two years in practice, returned to the RVC where he was gained his PhD for research into the extracellular matrix of equine tendon. He has held the professorship since 2003. Roger’s main area of research is understanding the mechanisms of tendon ageing. Other areas include the epidemiology of tendon disease in the horse, the development of a serological assay for tendonitis and stem cell therapy for tendons.
