Recorded Webinar: Diagnosis And Treatment Of Protein Losing Enteropathy (PLE)

Royal Veterinary College

Duration: 2 hour(s)
Cost: £50

About this course
In this webinar, we will be talking about a special case of IBD: Protein losing enteropathy (PLE). Many of these cases are quite ill when they present to the practitioner, and therefore, their workup needs to be streamlined to obtain a diagnosis quickly and as non-invasively as possible. Many times, this means having a discussion with the owner about full thickness versus endoscopic biopsies, including how to make sure you differentiate between lymphoma and severe IBD in these cases. We will discuss what diagnostic options are out there to help making this decision in practice. In addition, we will discuss options for treatment in these cases and learn about some new studies that looked at novel treatment options.

This recorded webinar was originally part of a four week live Webinar Plus course: Essentials of GI disorders, which is available as a recorded Webinar Plus course. As it was part of a live course, the content of the webinar may refer to work that needed to be undertaken during the live course, such as self-assessment tasks and discussion forums or other webinars. If you are interested in this subject you may want to consider registering on the recorded Webinar Plus version Recorded Webinar Plus: Essentials of GI disorders and access the course content along with four webinars.
