About this course
Debunk hibernation myths surrounding garden kept tortoises
Tortoises are common pets but often suffer poor welfare due to bad husbandry. When winter comes tortoises slow down for the hibernation process - do we know how to see them through this process safely?
This webinar we will go through pre-hibernation health screening in tortoises, helping identify issues which could make hibernation unsafe for pet tortoises. It explores methods on how to safely hibernate tortoises, helping you advise owners on safe best practice with their pets at this time of year. There will also be a brief overview on common post-hibernation issues and how to support the tortoise inpatient through these conditions.
