Are you an experienced Emergency or OOH Vet Surgeon available for a block of night shifts in March?
JR Veterinary is recruiting a Night ECC Vet on behalf of a small animal referral hospital in Hampshire. This is a locum opportunity covering a block of shifts across seven consecutive nights, working alongside an experienced night nurse and patient care team within a supportive, well-equipped referral environment.
The Shifts
- Friday 13th March — Thursday 19th March
- Week Days 10pm to 9am
- Weekends 9pm to 9am
The Role
This is a predominantly wards-based position focused on delivering high-quality inpatient care throughout the night. You will also handle incoming calls from clients and referring vets, and act as a point of support for on-call specialist teams when required.
A high level of emergency and out-of-hours experience is essential for this role. Prior experience within a referral setting is desirable.

✔ Significant emergency and OOH experience — essential
✔ Referral-level experience — desirable
✔ Calm, confident and clinically capable under pressure
✔ Excellent communication skills with clients and referring vets
✔ Available for the full block of shifts listed above
✔ Zero hours or Ltd company engagement only
