We are working with an independent small animal clinic in Northamptonshire that is seeking an experienced Locum Veterinary Surgeon to start from 5th May on an ongoing basis.
This is a five-vet practice open seven days a week, with no out-of-hours and no on-call responsibilities. Accommodation is available for the successful locum.
The role includes a mix of consultations and surgery, working as part of a structured and well-organised rota. The standard rota equates to 37 hours per week, typically made up of two 8am–7pm days, one 8am–4pm day and one 8am–5pm day. With weekend duties included, this averages 40 hours per week or 160 hours over a four-week period.
Weekend cover is on a shared 1 in 4 basis, with Saturdays 9am–3pm and Sundays 10am–3pm.
The practice requires a locum who is comfortable starting at 8am, finishing at 7pm when scheduled, working 1 in 4 weekends, undertaking both consults and operations, and being part of a planned rota. Rotas are agreed approximately three months in advance, providing clarity and notice for both parties.
