Independent Small Animal Practice – South East London
Salary: £27,000
Hours: Mix of 9am–5pm and 11am–7pm initially, moving to a 4-day week of 9am–7pm once team grows
Weekends: 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9am–1pm) with time back in the week
OOH: None – no out-of-hours or bank holidays
Experience: Previous VCA experience essential
The Opportunity
An independent small animal practice in South East London is growing and now looking for an experienced and proactive VCA/PCA to join their friendly team.
The practice has had an exceptional first year, building a loyal client base who value compassionate care, a personal touch and a warm, community feel. This role offers hands-on experience, variety and the chance to be genuinely involved in shaping a developing clinic.
About the Practice
This modern, purpose-built independent clinic is run by a small, supportive team who value collaboration, positivity and high-quality patient care. You’ll be working closely with experienced vets, RVNs and support staff, with your input genuinely valued.
Facilities include:
Digital X-ray & ultrasound
Spacious theatre
Dedicated RVN consult room
Separate cat ward
In-house laboratory
Comfortable staff welfare space
Your Role
A hands-on, varied position supporting the clinical team across all areas of day-to-day practice life. You’ll play a key part in delivering excellent patient care and ensuring a smooth client experience.
Clinical duties:
Assisting vets and nurses with daily procedures
Preparing patients for theatre & supporting recovery monitoring
Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness across clinical areas
Supporting inpatient care, handling, feeding & husbandry
Stock control and equipment support
Client care duties (as needed):
Welcoming clients and pets warmly
Booking appointments and supporting the diary
Providing information on services & patient care
Processing payments and maintaining accurate records
Working closely with the team to deliver seamless service
