JR Veterinary is recruiting a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse on behalf of a progressive, forward-thinking veterinary practice in South West Scotland. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and passionate RVN to step into a leadership role within a team that genuinely puts its nurses at the heart of everything it does.
The Role:
Salary: Up to £36,000 | DOE | 30–40 Hours Per Week
We are looking for a confident, motivated Head RVN who is ready to lead by example, inspire those around them and make a real difference to both the team and the patients in their care. You will be supported by a structure that includes fellow Head Nurses and an RVN Business Partner — someone who truly understands your role and the value you bring.
Nurses are not an afterthought here. They are central to clinical delivery, empowered to work to their full qualification and actively encouraged to develop their skills and specialisms.
The Practice:
This is a well-established, multi-site practice with a team of over 60 dedicated professionals across three locations, led by four partners including a vet, an RVN and a practice manager — meaning every role genuinely has a voice at the table.
The clinical team includes RVNs with specialist training in acupuncture, pain management, behaviour and Schedule 3 surgical procedures, alongside three Clinical Coach RVNs and three GPD-trained Clinical Lead Vets. You will always have a team to lean on, even across sites.
The practice is well-equipped with modern tools and technology to help you deliver the best possible care, including multiparameter monitors, fluid pumps, blood pressure monitors and ultrasound.
