The Role
We are looking for a skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse to take the lead role as Head Veterinary Nurse within our team at Oundle Veterinary Surgery. The successful candidate will be expected to oversee the smooth running of the clinical day. Our HVNs have pivotal roles between nurses, vets, and the administration team; working closely with the team of directors to deliver an exceptional service to our client and patients.
You will be a confident and capable RVN able to demonstrate excellent clinical abilities; management duties will include nurse scheduling, monitoring KPIs and SMART objectives, personnel management, looking for business development opportunities, Health and Safety representative and dealing with client queries and complaints.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week with the possibility of working a 4, 4.5 or 5 day a week shift pattern. There will be one late shift a week, with inpatient duties if required and 1 in 6 weekends working 8.30-5 on Saturday and on inpatient duty for the remaining time. Our OOH is covered by VetsNow.
Salary
The salary for this role is up to £30,000 depending on experience.

About the Team and Culture
Oundle Vets is a progressive SA first opinion practice with up-to-date technology. It is part of a 5-site group called Sampson Park Group so there's a brilliant opportunity for learning and delivers an excellent support network for growth and development. Our team is currently made up of 4/5 vets, 6 nurses and full reception cover. We have a Referral site within the group (Byre Vets) where we regularly see orthopaedic/dental/ophthalmology/physio referrals. We pride ourselves on our wellbeing initiatives and team engagement.
Applicant Requirements
The successful candidate will be a qualified and competent RVN, ideally with previous leadership experience. You will be dedicated, professional, well organised with excellent communication skills and lead by example.
