About the Practice

This RCVS-accredited, purpose-built small animal training practice in County Durham is known for its friendly, inclusive, and people-first culture. The team has built an award-winning workplace where support, collaboration, and mutual respect are at the heart of everything they do.

The management team brings additional qualifications in Leadership, Management, Coaching, and Mental Health & Wellbeing, ensuring a genuinely supportive environment that nurtures professional growth and understands the realities of modern-day veterinary care.

From day one, you’ll feel part of a team that looks out for each other — both professionally and personally. As one RVN puts it:

“We’re encouraged to work in our chosen areas of interest — something I’ve never experienced anywhere else!”

The Role

You’ll join a welcoming team of 8 RVNs, 3 SVNs, 3 VCAs, and 6 Veterinary Surgeons, supported by a fantastic admin and client care team. The role includes a varied mix of:

Inpatient and hospital care

Nurse-led consultations

Anaesthesia and theatre work

Involvement in quality improvement projects

Collaboration across the clinical team

A structured career pathway supports your professional development, with current nurses specialising in areas such as behaviour, nutrition, surgical nursing, feline care, and sustainability.

The position offers 40 hours per week, though part-time applications are warmly welcomed. The team operates a balanced rota, including some inpatient OOH care, designed to maintain an excellent work-life balance.

Purpose-built practice with on-site inpatient hospitalisation

Digital and dental X-ray, ultrasound, and endoscopy

Laparoscopy and in-house laser therapy

Well-equipped lab with multiparameters

Designated quiet room and Gold ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic status

Access to a mobile vet clinic for community outreach

Who We’re Looking For

Whether you’re newly qualified or experienced, if you’re passionate about excellent nursing, value a kind and inclusive workplace, and want to make a real impact — this is the perfect place to thrive.

The team prides itself on fostering confidence, clinical skills, and wellbeing in a supportive environment where everyone’s contribution matters.
