We’re working with a well-established small animal practice in Hampshire to find an experienced and motivated Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse to join their dedicated nursing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse looking to take the next step in their career, supporting the Head Nurse in leading a busy practice and ensuring clinical excellence across the board.
Full Time | Salary: £29,000–£34,000 DOE | 1 in 4 Weekends
🩺 The Role
As Deputy Head Nurse, you'll play a key role in helping to manage and develop the clinical team, promote best practice, and ensure the highest standards of patient care and client service. You'll also remain hands-on with nursing duties, supporting inpatient care, consultations, and surgical procedures.
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, supportive environment, and enjoy mentoring others, collaborating across the team, and working on a varied caseload – including opportunities to develop further in clinical areas of interest.
⏰ Working Pattern
- 4-day week (9-hour shifts)
- 1 in 4 weekend rota

💡 What We’re Looking For
- RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse
- At least 2 years’ experience in a clinical role
- Leadership or mentoring experience (or ambition to develop into this)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Passion for delivering high standards in patient care and customer service
- Confidence working across a diverse caseload, including exotics (optional)
