A purpose-built practice. A team that genuinely cares. A role where your growth actually matters.
If you are craving a place where your nursing skills are respected, your development is encouraged, and your work-life balance is protected, this might be exactly what you have been searching for.
Maybe you are feeling stretched thin. Maybe you miss having time to nurse properly. Maybe you want a team that values curiosity and continuous learning as much as you do. If that sounds familiar, you are in the right place.
The Opportunity
We are working with a modern, well equipped, independent practice in the Portsmouth area, that has built something many RVNs struggle to find: a steady, supportive environment where you can deliver excellent care without feeling like you are constantly firefighting.
They are looking for an experienced, proactive RVN who loves getting stuck in, supporting their colleagues, and being part of a team that works together rather than in silos. If you are someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a busy caseload, and gets energised by continuous learning, you will fit in brilliantly here.
Success in this role looks like becoming a valued voice in the nursing team, helping raise clinical standards, and embracing the CPD opportunities on offer to shape your own future in practice.
Why This Role Is Different
A genuinely modern clinical environment
This is a purpose built, spacious surgery designed to give nurses room to nurse. The practice is fully equipped with the diagnostics, facilities, and workflow systems you would expect from a forward thinking, independent group.
A team that backs each other
You will be joining a group of professionals who are passionate about supporting one another, celebrating strengths, and sharing knowledge. Several team members have been here for years, which says a lot about the culture.
Work-life balance that is actually achievable
You will work 4 x 9 hour days, plus 1 in 4 weekends, with duty nights on rotation. No TOIL, no hidden extras. Just clarity, structure, and predictability.
A culture of continuous learning
The practice invests across all levels to ensure CPD is meaningful, accessible, and aligned with each person’s strengths. If you want to grow, they will give you the space and support to do it.
Your Journey Here
In Your First Month
You will get to know the team, learn the systems, familiarise yourself with the equipment, and settle comfortably into the rota. Expect plenty of support as you find your footing.
In Your First 3 Months
You will be confidently handling the varied caseload, contributing your ideas, and getting involved in the learning culture. This is when you start exploring the CPD opportunities that excite you.
In Your First 6 Months
You will be fully integrated, a trusted voice in the nursing team, and potentially developing a niche interest or pursuing further training supported by the practice.
