The Role
Here at Park Veterinary Centre, we are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team. Our Nurses are well respected and work closely with our team of Vets and Support Staff, to ensure the best possible care is given. Our nursing team is very supportive, and extra training can be given to someone looking to return to nursing, or just beginning their Veterinary Nursing career. Our nurses work in Theatre, Pharmacy, Ward, and Nurses Clinics and are encouraged to pursue special interests and CPD. We are a Training Practice and would encourage and support all our Nurses to be involved in nurse training.
The hours for this role are 38 per week, between 8:00am and 4:30pm, with one longer shift until 8:00pm per week. Weekends are 1 in 4, we employ night staff to look after our in-patients. Our out of hours is mostly covered by VetsNow, but we do provide cover on Saturday and Sunday daytime.
About Us
Park Veterinary Centre is a well-established first opinion practice, with roots in Hertfordshire going back over 100 years. We are a Training Practice and hold RCVS GP status. Our equipment list includes Endoscopy, Laparoscopy, Ultrasound, Digital X-ray, Multi-Modal monitor, ECG, and BP monitoring. We see a large volume of Exotics and Wildlife, supported by one of our Vets and several keen nurses! We are situated in Watford, Hertfordshire, which is surrounded by beautiful countryside, while also having easy access to train stations, with London approximately 35 minutes away.
We currently have 7 FTE Vets, 6 full-time and 2 part-time Registered Veterinary Nurses, and 5 Student Nurses. We are actively increasing our current Nursing Team. We have a large support team consisting of Receptionists, Telephonists, VCA's, and Accounts Staff, ensuring our Nurses can focus on their clinical skills.
Any new hire will be included in our general nursing rota, across all roles. Any special interests will be encouraged and supported. We provide services for a local Wildlife Rescue, and several of our nurses, along with one of our vets enjoy treating Exotics and Wildlife.
